Chefs Tramanto Olive Wood Cheese Board and Cutting Board Extra Large

Make a distinct impression with our rarest and most exquisite serving boards from the Tramanto collection. Our flagship serving boards are an incredible 22-24″ inches long at the minimum, with some boards reaching up to 28″ in length (not guaranteed, however). Carefully harvested by master olive arborists, these pieces are hand cut from supremely rare olive trees selected for their size and legacy. Tramanto is one of the few suppliers world wide of olive wood of this size and our flagship boards are only available in highly limited quantities due to availability. Amazingly, some of our flagship pieces were from trees planted prior to WWII.

According to legend, the first olive tree was brought to being by the goddess Athena, to win over the city that would later be named after her, Athens. Ever since, olive wood has been prized over the centuries by kings, noblemen, clergy and craftsmen. Featuring golden colors with an iridescent shine and an exotic burl like grain, olive wood is still highly sought after. Only able to grow in specialized climates, olive trees are very slow to grow and can take 30-40 years to mature, but can have lifespans over 1,000 years.

Please note due to the age and rarity of these boards, to allow for size, shape and bark variance. We guarantee a minimum 22-24″ length, but width may be between 10-15″ at various points on the board and there may be no bark, some bark or large amounts of bark on the board. While we understand personal tastes, we hope potential customers will understand the significance and provenance of these pieces to accept the nature’s beauty in it’s truest form.
